In the week commencing 25 May, on Monday Tuesday and Wednesday, groups of First and Second Year pupils from the school will spend time in the woods taking part in a range of activities –
Buschraft skills,Outdoor cooking, and Woodland Games.
The woods will be filled with not just the sounds of bird-song, but the chatter of children.
The aim of these activities, from the DCWG perspective, is to encourage the young people to become stake-holders in the care of the woods, and to teach them to respect the woodland and the habitat it provides.
Come and visit us at our stall during this year’s Fun Day on 18th June in Lauderdale Park, 1-4pm.
Please check Dunbar Civic Week for all the week’s events 18 – 26 June 2016.
We are looking for help to re-lay the paths through the woods between Kellie Road-Brunt Court and Steadings Crescent-Concrete Road.
Please turn up with your spades, gloves and wheelbarrows on Sunday 21 September (Brunt Court) or the weekend of 27/27 September (Steadings Crescent) to help us cut back vegetation and lay the new paths.
Thanks to ALL our helpers – DCWG members, Girl Guides, Scouts, Beavers – for sterling work. Thanks to everybody’s hard work the paths in the woods are in good nick, for everybody to be enjoyed.
