Storm Arwen

Arwen has not done too much damage, unlike other woodlands nearby. This is partly due to the fact that the woods are well looked after, partly due to the direction of the wind – from the north, had to pass over the town first, the woods are in the lea of the town.

Still, committee volunteers have given up 2 Sundays in a row to –

1) make the woodland safe: A dozen hung up branches.

Tree surgeon needed for dangerous tree, cherry picker hired.

2) to tidy up and clear the paths. This is to give huge thanks to Craig, Colin & Bob on chainsaws, and others who came along to fetch and carry on these days.

Lets hope Barra does no damage this evening.

We will need funds to cover the cost of making the woods safe.
